Indians slam advice to ‘look poor’

That advice is ludicrous and inept. How can we have confidence in our police when the chief commissioner comes up with that nonsense advice. Everyone regardless of race, religion etc… has the right to expect equal treatment in our community and the law should do everything it can to uphold that right. Such statements from the man in charge only make the police look racist and indifferent to unfair treatment of students from foreign cultures. It seems we are happy to take their money and even rip them off, but when it comes to basic human rights, foreign students are on their own. That is the reality and there is no way to dress it up any other way, other that by lying and presenting a facade that all is well. Bullshit, all is not well.

The police need to make arrests, lock racists and other criminals up and throw away the key. Only then will there be something approaching peace in our streets and Australia’s reputation of being a rich diverse nation accepting of global citizens and leading the world by positive example, be restored. Shame Shame Shame on you Commissioner.

Yes it’s very disappointing that such racially bias sentiments seem to come from the chief commissioners mouth. “try to look as poor as you can” ? Why is that required ? Because it’s not OK for people of colour to look and feel proud ? So they are supposed to look like poor measly hopeless souls ? Come on you are pulling my leg commissioner. You are not serious in such denigrating remarks are you ? And yet you seem to have time to prance around with the fairies as if to pretend you give a dam about human rights ?
